The council of mayors asks for a meeting with Hydro-Québec
In response to recent power outages in the Upper Pontiac: the municipalities of L’Isle-aux-Allumettes, Waltham, Sheenboro and Chichester, the Regional Council of Mayors of the MRC Pontiac has requested a meeting with Hydro-Quebec to ask for explanations. In an interview, Warden Jane Toller explained:
Last week, the spokesperson for Hydro-Québec, Julie Léonard, explained, in an interview with CHIP 101,9, some of the possible reasons for the outages, including faulty equipment and vegetation.
Since the beginning of 2019, the number of power outages in Pontiac Ouest, according to the statistics gathered by David Gillespie, a resident of L’Isle-aux-Allumettes, would have reached 59. Another interruption is scheduled for this week.
