The CJJ Bryson Gym opens its doors
A new gym has opened its doors in the Pontiac, as the CJJ Bryson Gym, located at 833 rue Principale, is now ready to receive customers. One of the gyms volunteers, Stéphane Pieschke, explained the origin of the name and described the equipment offered on site.
“That’s a good question, everyone asks why CJJ? Why not underground or bunker gym? CJJ, it’s Cassandra, Jonathan and Jade, our three children,” he explained (tr.). “We used their first initials in the gym’s name because we want it to be a family-style gym. We want to 12-13 year-olds along with their parents as well. It’s really for the community. The equipment we have here, there’s three rooms. The first room when you come in is the cardio room. It’s for people of all ages and has ellipticals, a stepper, treadmills, stationary bikes, battle ropes, slam ball. It has wifi, and a television as well for those who want to watch something while they’re on the treadmill. The second room is the strength room. We have all the machines to hit every part of your body.”
Pieschke said that memberships would be $350 for a year or $35 per month. Walk-in users can pay $8 per session. He added that they’re running a promo for the month of February, which is $15 for the remainder of the month or $315 for the year.
