The CISSSO is investigating about thirty cases of COVID-19 which may be a variant in the Outaouais

During the press conference of the Integrated Health and Social Services Center (CISSS) of the Outaouais, Dr. Carol McConnery revealed that around thirty positive cases of COVID-19, which may be a variant of the virus in the Outaouais, were currently under investigation.

As is the case in other regions in Quebec, officials of the CISSS de l’Outaouais have said they expect the Outaouais to see an increase in the number of positive cases for COVID-19 variants.

Stable statistics for the RLS Pontiac

The COVID-19 toll within the Pontiac Local Service Network (RLS) has remained stable, still indicating 5 or less active cases and 75 cases since the start of the pandemic. The vast majority of cases are located in the municipality of Pontiac (including the Quyon, Luskville, Breckenridge, Eardley, Onslow sectors) with 43. In the MRC Pontiac, Shawville has 9 cases, Mansfield has 7, Campbell’s Bay, Fort-Coulonge , L’Isle-aux-Allumettes, Île-du-Grand-Calumet, Otter Lake, Shawville and Waltham all have had 5 or less cases since the start of the pandemic.
