The CISSS de l’Outaouais says it has improved its mental health services
While the Covid-19 pandemic is still hitting, the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais says it has enhanced its mental health services to support the population in this time of crisis. The CISSS de l’Outaouais affirms that the government’s investments have made it possible to increase mental health services, for both youth and adult clients. The CISSS de l’Outaouais has noted since the start of the first wave of Covid-19 an upsurge in requests for mental health services. Among other things, we note a greater number of calls to Info-Social (811 option 2). The population experiences more isolation and stress in this context, says the CISSS.
Here are the enhancements to the mental health services put in place:
– Improving the structure of Info-Social teams (811)
– Increase in the offer of open groups and in community
– Implementation of a group offer in virtual mode
– Increased support and clinical supervision to professionals
– Faster access for large users using multiple disciplines
– Establishment of a mobile team that allows rapid interventions for adult customers
– Intensive intervention team set up for youth clients
– Development of a group for parents of anxious children
Many other initiatives have been set up to support the needs of the population. The CISSS de l’Outaouais reiterates to the population that mental health services exist. People who are experiencing psychological distress are encouraged to call 811, option 2 for assistance.
