The CISSS de l’Outaouais recalls that wearing face cover in its facilities is mandatory

21 July 2020 à 12:00 am

Following the Quebec government’s announcement to make it compulsory to wear face cover in closed or partially covered public places, the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux de l’Outaouais informs the population that this measure also applies to all of its facilities.

People aged 12 and over who come to CISSS Outaouais facilities must wear a face covering. Only people with respiratory problems recognized by a health professional and young people under 12 are exempt. In the event that a person does not have a face cover, especially in exceptional situations, a mask for the general public will be provided by the establishment. Note that the face covering does not replace the procedure mask when required. The establishment will continue to issue a procedural mask to persons who must wear it, in particular, users who present symptoms related to COVID-19.

All staff working in CISSS Outaouais facilities are also affected by the compulsory wearing of face coverings. In addition, personnel providing care and services in the presence of users must wear the procedure mask.
The basic measures (physical distance of 2 meters, hand hygiene and respiratory label) must continue to be applied by anyone wearing a face covering.
