The COVID-19 designated center, located at Hull Hospital, will have a second unit to accommodate clients affected by the virus.

The Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais has indicated that this expansion aims to separate intensive care patients from those who require a less continuous level of care.

The establishment said it had identified this additional unit “from the start of the pandemic, in anticipation of an increase in hospital cases”. It is said that the use of the premises will be continuously reassessed and may be closed depending on the volume of hospitalized users, although it is effective for the moment.

«This new structure allows ours organization to be prepared in the event of a significant increase in cases. This reorganization allows us to accommodate a greater number of patients at the designated COVID-19 unit, which is currently divided into two units.», said the CISSS de l’Outaouais, via a press release.

The evolution of the situation in Outaouais continues to be monitored and the CISSS de l’Outaouais mentions that it will adjust “as and when”, both at the hospital level and in the other care settings and services served by the organization.
