The Outaouais has experienced a major increase in the number of COVID-19 cases, with 245 as well as a worrying number of COVID-19 hospitalizations at 55 including four (4) in intensive care. Across the Outaouais, there are 1,113 active cases, including 51 across the territory of the Pontiac Local Service Network (RLS).

The Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais, France Dumont, drew a portrait of the situation.

The CISSS de l’Outaouais reiterated throughout the day that vaccinations were continuing and they encouraged people to make an appointment. As of today, note that people with chronic diseases (according to certain public health criteria) and essential workers (teachers, daycare educators, community workers and many others) in the Outaouais are eligible for the vaccine.
