The Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais confirmed yesterday that the population aged 85 and over is invited to make an appointment from today (February 25) at 8 a.m., to get their vaccine.

The CISSS de l’Outaouais declared that the people concerned are invited, as far as possible, to make an appointment online, or otherwise by phone at 1-877-644-4545 . Following this announcement, the vaccinations will begin on March 11 for the Pontiac and Collines-de-Outaouais territories. These vaccination site opening dates have been established according to the planned vaccine delivery schedule. Caregivers are invited to support their loved one in making an appointment. Caregivers can also be vaccinated if they are accompanying the 85-year-old, if they are over 70 and if they support their loved one more than 3 days a week.

The CISSS de l’Outaouais is also informing the population that the vaccination of private seniors’ residences was completed on February 22. The vaccine doses delivered last week have all passed according to the CISSS.

The CISSS de l’Outaouais said it wanted to reassure the population that appointments for people aged 80 will be possible soon and will keep the population informed as soon as possible. The Department of Health and Social Services will send letters to everyone in the target age group as the campaign progresses to inform them of how the vaccination campaign is working. A major advertising campaign will also take place in local media in the region. For any information on COVID-19, the public is invited to consult the Government of Quebec Website .
