Last Thursday evening was the 4th edition of the Défi des Chefs Leucan Challenge. CHIP 101.9 cultural columnist, Marie Gionet, participated in the Maison Oddo brigade. The event was a real success. More than 500 guests took part in this benefit evening raising nearly $195,000 for families affected by cancer in their child.

“This edition was more user-friendly and more dynamic. Guests were invited to move from chef station to chef station in order to pick up their dish and meet the participating restaurants. The excitement was palpable throughout the evening. The guests were really happy to be with us after these two years of absence and we were very happy to see them again. Even our talented chefs were there and supported us despite the difficulties of the past two years,” said Jacques Tremblay, Director of Major Donations and Nord-du-Québec Partnership at Leucan. The Défi des Chefs is a friendly culinary competition to help children with cancer and their families. Note that Yannick La Salle (Les Fougères) from Bryson took part in the activity again this year, having won the most recent edition in 2019. The big winner of the 2022 Chefs’ Challenge evening with his favorite dish returned to Karim Filiou (The BBQ Shop).
