The 2026 Culturiades: Call for applications launched in the Outaouais region
Culture Outaouais invites artists, writers, collectives, organizations, and cultural businesses from the region to submit their applications for the 27th annual Les Culturiades Gala, which will take place on November 19th, 2026, in Gatineau.
This annual event aims to showcase artistic excellence in the Outaouais region and celebrate the dynamism of the local cultural scene.
Three categories are open this year. The Young Talent Award is for artists and creators aged 35 and under and includes a $2,000 grant. The Organization of the Year Award recognizes the contribution of a cultural organization or business in the region and also includes a $2,000 grant.
Two creative residencies will also be offered to selected artists or collectives. They will take place at Maison Fairview in Gatineau over two weeks between September and October 2027. Selected projects will receive $2,500 in financial assistance. David Lavigne, Mobilization and Communications Advisor for Culture Outaouais, explains what the Culturiades represent for the Outaouais cultural community:
“For 27 years now, the Culturiades have played a major role in recognizing artists, organizations, and all stakeholders in the cultural sector. It’s a special opportunity to come together and showcase regional talent.”
The deadline for applications is September 21st, 2026.
The Culturiades Gala pays tribute each year to creators and cultural figures in the Outaouais region. Finalists and winners are chosen by a jury of peers from various artistic disciplines.
