The imposition of 14 days of isolation is also applicable to those who also move for no essential reason from the Pontiac to Gatineau, according to what was revealed by the Warden of the MRC Pontiac, Jane Toller, on Saturday morning.
As CHIP 101.9 revealed this week, this measure applied to checkpoints by the various police services is authorized by the Government of Quebec in connection with the state of health emergency in the province.
The Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais has confirmed that those arriving from Ontario and residing permanently in the Outaouais region should be placed in isolation if they have left the region for non essential travelling (or have traveled outside the country). It is also specified that the region is not accessible for cottage owners.
This condition also applies to the MRC Pontiac. According to the CISSS de l’Outaouais, it is not possible to enter the territory without essential justification, or if that one does not reside in the MRC. The Sûreté du Québec police officers who intercept residents travelling outside the MRC will ask motorists to stay at home if it is not essential.
Here is Jane Toller’s full update for this Saturday, April 11th.
