Teacher Appreciation Week (February 1–7)

2 February 2026 à 1:12 pm

Teacher Appreciation Week is an important annual celebration in Quebec that recognizes and highlights the essential role teachers play in students’ academic success and in the development of society. This tradition has existed since 1994 and gives the school community, families, and the general public an opportunity to say thank you to the educators who invest themselves every day in young people’s learning and well-being.

In 2026, the 32nd edition of this week will take place from February 1 to 7. During this period, schools, school service centres, and organizations within the education sector highlight the commitment, passion, and professionalism of teachers. The week shines a light on their irreplaceable role in supporting students, developing skills, stimulating curiosity, and creating a positive learning environment.

This week allows students, parents, and everyone connected to the school community to express their appreciation—through words, gestures, activities, or messages—toward those who, every day, help make education a meaningful and enriching experience. It is also an opportunity to remind the public that teachers are worth far more than recognition alone: they inspire, encourage, and open doors to the future for thousands of young people.

CHIP 101.9 would like to take this opportunity to recognize the outstanding work of all teachers serving the Pontiac region. Thank you for the important role you play in the education and development of our youth.
