Sylvain Bégin’s funeral to be broadcasted on CHIP 101.9

Given the restrictions in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, CHIP 101.9 will broadcast the funeral of Sylvain Bégin, who died following a road accident last Saturday. Sylvain Bégin’s family requested it after seeing the Outaouais turn to code orange in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, restricting the number of people who can attend the ceremony.

“The current context is not easy for the family, Sylvain touched a lot of people in his life. We could not broadcast every funeral in the community, but we had an openness from our sponsors and we felt the need of the community to want to come together. That’s what a community radio is for,” explained the director of CHIP 101.9, François Carrier.

The funeral is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. this Friday, September 25.
