During the coming weeks, the Sûreté du Québec in the Outaouais-Laurentides region will be watching and educating motorcyclists.

To reduce the risk of motor vehicle collisions causing injury or death, motorcyclists are reminded of the following precautions:
-Wear a helmet that complies with current manufacturing standards.
-Be sure to be visible by wearing light colored clothing that provides protection in the event of collision -be alert at intersections.
-Check your headlights.
-Comply with the Highway Safety Code.
In addition to paying particular attention to speed and dangerous maneuvers, police officers also seek out motorcyclists’ gathering to provide preventive information and handouts. Since the beginning of the season, 24 fatal collisions killing 26 people have occurred on the road network served by the Sûreté du Québec.
