Student choir serenades seniors in Shawville
Yesterday (December 21) a choir of student carolers from Dr. S.E. McDowell Elementary School in Shawville visited the CAP assisted living facility to bring gifts and good cheer to the residents. One of the organizers, Erin Davis, explained that she had participated in similar visits when she was a youngster, and contacted the school earlier in the year to see if they could restart the tradition. In total, around 30 students from grades three to six practiced on their lunch breaks for a little over a month leading up to the visit.
Davis said that they received many generous donations of gifts to give away to the 50 residents of the home. She added the students got just as much out of the excursion as the people they were visiting.
The full interview with Davis (4m50) is available here.
