Strike against the lack of progress in negotiations in early childhood care centers
On Wednesday September 09, representatives of the Fédération des intervenantes en petite enfance du Québec (FIPEQ-CSQ) in charge of family education services (RSE) in the Outaouais held strike in the streets of Buckingham to protest the lack of progress in the negotiation table for the regulated and subsidized family environment. In an interview, the president of the FIPEQ-CSQ, Valérie Grenon, talked about what the federation is demanding.
Wednesday’s Strike was part of a provincial tour highlighting the various early childhood education centers across the province, as explained by Grenon.
This morning around 9:00 a.m., members of the RSE mobilized at the Hart Shopping Center in Buckingham, then walked with drums to the Minister of Family’s office on the main avenue.
Grenon added that they intend to meet with Mathieu Lacombe to come to an understanding the Federation would proceed to start a permanent strike until it’s demands are met. In the Outaouais region, nearly 1,700 families were affected by Wednesday’s walkout.
