Strategic planning meeting in L’Isle-aux-Allumettes
Less than 10 people were in attendance for the MRC Pontiac public consultation on the strategic planning vision statement Tuesday in the municipality of L’Isle-aux-Allumettes. Among the top priorities of the Residents of the Upper Pontiac in attendance, is to see better Internet and cellular connection, better attraction for new settlers and better community services.
Among those who spoke, the Mayor of L’Isle-aux-allumettes, Winston Sunstrum, said that he believes an efficient way to gain prosperity in the Pontiac is first take a general assessment of the region as it currently is.
The number of residents in attendance was also notable point highlighted during the meeting, as a lack of public participation occurred in prior consultations such as in Otter Lake and L’Île-du-Grand-Calumet. The Warden of the MRC Jane Toller responded to the resident’s concerns while thanking them for their community leadership.
The next public consultation will be held in Alleyn-et-Cawood on Monday, September 28, at Bethany Hall, 33 Harrison rd, Danford Lake.
