Sphinx issued a press release concerning Calumet-Nord property
The mining company Sphinx, which owns projects in L’Île-du-Grand-Calumet, issued a press release this week concerning data regarding their Calumet-Nord property. In addition to the technical aspects of the project, it was said that some of the characteristics found were similar to a mine operated by the South 32 company in Australia, the mega-deposit of volcanogenic silver Cannington. The copper-gold zone traced on the Calumet-Nord property is located 2.8 kilometres north of the former New Calumet mine, which historically produced, from 1944 to 1968, 3.8 million tonnes of ore grading 5.8% zinc, 1.6% lead, 0.3% copper, 65 g/t silver and 0.4 g/t gold.
The Calumet-Nord property is located on L’Île-du-Grand-Calumet in the MRC Pontiac. According to the statement, a drilling campaign is planned for the of spring 2020, once the target areas have been identified.
