Sphinx appoints a new administrator with extensive mining experience
Sphinx Resources announced that Martin Bourgoin has been appointed to the Company’s board of directors as an independent director. The company, which owns the Calumet-Sud (zinc) and Calumet-Nord (gold, silver and copper potential in the Île-du-Grand-Calumet belt) projects, says it wishes to build a team of directors with expertise in the matter.
“Sphinx’s strategy is to build a team with people from different backgrounds who are interested in supporting the board of directors and the CEO of Sphinx by providing them with technical advice” explained the Sphinx President and CEO Jerry Ryan.
Since obtaining his BSc in geology from the University of New Brunswick in 1985, Mr. Bourgoin has worked in the mining industry as an exploration geologist and also as a production geologist, including 3 years as a geologist in chief at the Sigma mine in Val-d’Or. During his 30 years of experience, Mr. Bourgoin worked for several mining companies such as Noranda Exploration, Agnico Eagle and Placer Dome. As a consultant, Mr. Bourgoin has worked on several gold projects in the Val-D’Or mining camp and also has extensive experience in iron, antimony and other base and precious metals. Following his stint at the Sigma mine, Mr. Bourgoin founded MRB & Associés (1999-2019) a geological consulting company whose mission was to help mining exploration companies with their gold projects in the mining camp of Val-d’Or.
