Special recognition given to the MRC Pontiac for the construction of a new entrance
The Pontiac MRC received an award of excellence from the Centre d’expertise sur la construction commerciale en bois (Cecobois) in February for its decision to use wood in the construction of their new entrance during the expansion project at the MRC Pontiac. The Assistant Director of the MRC Pontiac, Gabriel Lance, gave more details.
The Cecobois Awards of Excellence is a special award that recognizes and celebrates the use of wood in various construction projects. During the Gala where the awards were handed out, the MRC Pontiac project was described as follows: “The choice of a structure with a light wood frame and a wood exterior covering for the expansion of its premises. An interior wall was also covered with wood retrieved from the Ottawa River”. It is possible to see this wood wall behind the reception desk at the MRC.
