Slight increase in active cases in Pontiac, but decrease in Outaouais and Quebec

According to the most recent data from the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais, the number of active cases in the MRC Pontiac has now reached 15, a slight increase of 3 cases compared to last week.

Elsewhere in the Outaouais, the number of cases has decreased in Gatineau with 154. The RLS’ of Collines-de-l’Outaouais and Papineau have 7 cases each and the Vallée-de-la-Gatineau less than 5. Data from the CISSS of the Outaouais are available here.

Note that yesterday, the Premier of Quebec announced that as of next Monday (June 7), Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Côte-Nord and Nord-du-Quebec will pass into the green zone. Nothing has yet been decided for the Outaouais, which has been in the orange zone since Monday.

Vaccination continues everywhere in Quebec, but yesterday, during the press conference, the Premier stressed that it was more difficult to vaccinate people between the ages of 18 and 40, many of whom have not yet made their appointment to receive their first dose.

As of June 1, 263,753 people had received a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine in the Outaouais.
