Shortage of firefighter on l’Île-du-Grand-Calumet

During the municipal council meeting Monday, February 10th, in L’Île-du-Grand-Calumet, three students of Sieur de Coulonge high school proposed a solution to the municipality’s current firemen recruitment issue, namely to implement a junior firefighter program, as it is the case in other municipalities.

The Municipal Councillor and teacher at Sieur-de-Coulonge High School, Martin Bertrand, replied that the school had created a program to encourage students to take the time to get involved in their municipality. Follow-ups on this file will be available soon.
