Shortage at the CISSS Outaouais: the employees are demonstrating
Dozens of the Centre intégré de santé et des services sociaux de l’Outaouais workers gathered last week (November 8) to highlight the urgency of taking action to end the staffing shortage. This gathering was under the theme: Arrêtez… de nous crinquer !
The CISSS l’Outaouais’ CSN union says they want to denounce their working conditions. In a statement, the union said that the problem is far from settled, and that the number of people hired has been lower than the number of departures between August and October. The CSN union also claims to have had to intervene in more than 100 cases at CNESST and in more than 60 salary insurance cases.
Josée McMillan, the President of the travailleuses et travailleurs de la Santé et des services sociaux de l’Outaouais– CSN Union said that what is missing are concrete actions to end this crisis and this must be done in conjunction with the women workers and workers who know their workplace.
