Shawville Lions Country Jamboree celebrates 10th anniversary later this week

18 July 2023 à 3:50 pm

The Shawville Lions Country Jamboree is back for another year, with dozens of campers set to converge on Armstrong Heritage Farm just outside of town as things get underway later this week. CHIP 101.9 spoke with Shawville Lions President Ed Walsh (who also moonlights at the mayor of Clarendon) to talk about the  preparations for the event.

He said that this is their second event since the pandemic, and though their numbers were down last year, they’re hoping to see a bit of a rebound. This is also the 10th year that the Lions have been organizing the event, after taking it on from previous organizers.

Walsh said that the lineup is a mix of talent from both sides of the Ottawa Valley and as usual, there will be an open mic night on Thursday for aspiring up and comers.

More information can be found here.

The full interview with Walsh (7m55) is available here.
