Several fundraisers started for Campbell’s Bay Mayor Maurice Beauregard

Following Campbell’s Bay Mayor Maurice Beauregard’s cancer diagnosis in late April, the community is banding together to raise money for him and his family. This Saturday, there will be hair cut and bake sale fundraiser a the Campbell’s Bay Lions Hall from 10 a.m. to noon. Organizer Charleen Moore said that she and a committee of about 5 people put the event together.

Haircuts will cost $20 and attendees will be able to peruse the baked goods while they wait.

Those looking to donate money or baked goods can contact Moore at 819 208 4245, or send an e-transfer to charleenmoore@hotmail.com (password Maurice). In addition Moore has started a Facebook page where she will be posting updates, called fundraiser for Maurice Beauregard and Family.

But that’s not all the community is doing to help out the Beauregard family. The Campbell’s Bay 3-pitch league, which plays on Sunday evenings from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., will be donating their canteen and bar profits for the next two weeks. On June 12, they will also be running a barbeque from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. complete with live music.

Campbell’s Bay councillors and municipal employees have also put together a raffle draw for a sizable collection of alcoholic beverages valued at approximately $500. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the bake sale Saturday or by e-transferring Suzanne Dubeau at suzanne_dubeau61@hotmail.com (password Maurice). The draw will take place on June 17 at noon.
