23 October 2024 à 3:26 pm

The Pontiac Senior Comets home opener will be played at 5:30 p.m. this Sunday, October 27 at the Shawville arena. The game was supposed to take place at the Centre de Loisirs des Draveurs Century 21 Élite in Fort-Coulonge, however a due to an issue with the arena’s refrigeration system, plans had to change quickly. In addition to this weekend’s action, the Comets’ following three games on November 2, 9 and 16 will also be played in Shawville.

Comets coach Luc Danis said that the players had been starting to gel as a squad, having secured their first victory of the season in Low this past Saturday, with a tight 2-1 win over Quebec rivals Paugan Falls Rapids.

He said that to promote their first game in the Pontiac this season, they offered all students at local schools free admission in an effort to pack the venue with supporters.

Danis said that they were familiar with this weekend’s visiting opponents, the South Stormont Mustangs, and weren’t taking them lightly.

More information on the Pontiac Senior Comets is available on their website.
