Schools in the Outaouais region are invited to participate in an eco-responsible initiative

7 August 2026 à 1:12 pm

Schools in the region are invited to take further steps for the environment through the Outaouais Eco-Citizen Schools program.

Developed by Enviro Éduc-Action, this program supports elementary, secondary, and adult schools in their efforts to improve their environmental performance and foster eco-citizenship among students.

Over the course of a school year, participating schools receive personalized support, including workshops, training sessions, educational resources, and eco-consulting sessions with green clubs comprised of students and staff members.

The goal is to help schools implement concrete environmental actions while empowering young people to actively participate in the ecological transition of their community.

Registration for the 2026-2027 school year is open until August 28th. Interested schools can complete an expression of interest form, as spaces are limited.

Furthermore, Enviro Éduc-Action continues its community outreach activities. Over the summer, the organization supported several regional events in adopting more eco-responsible practices, including the Gatineau Comedy Festival, the Parasol Festival, and the Quebec Mountain Bike Cup in Nakkertok.

The organization also offers educational activities for youth, awareness workshops, and training on best environmental practices, particularly waste management.

Through its various initiatives, Enviro Éduc-Action aims to encourage citizens, institutions, and organizations in the Outaouais region to actively participate in environmental protection.
