School youth worker-summer camp (1 position, maternity leave replacement)
Le Jardin éducatif du Pontiac is a non-profit community organization whose mission is to offer re-education, reintegration and reorientation activities to young people in difficulty. We receive referrals from schools and/or organizations offering psychosocial services. Our aim is to counter school and social dropout by :
Offering education to students who have been temporarily withdrawn from their school environment and who are at high risk of dropping out;
Implementing an individualized intervention plan prepared in collaboration with schools and psychosocial workers;
Offering activities or information sessions linked to existing programs;
Offering a re-education and reintegration program based primarily on work and social skills;
Operating an ecological market garden or any other means deemed relevant and consistent with the goals and objectives previously mentioned by the members of the corporation;
Promoting cooperation between community resources and local stakeholders;
Promoting healthy lifestyle habits among young people;
Promoting sustainable and ecological agriculture.
Duties :
Meet students’ needs by demonstrating flexibility and a variety of teaching approaches and strategies;
Implement individualized intervention plans;
Develop activities and workshops that enhance self-esteem, self-confidence, autonomy and self-responsibility.
Develop young people’s social and work skills.
Teach academic subjects on an individualized basis, using school-supplied materials and a variety of teaching aids;
Promote a healthy lifestyle
Contribute to the garden’s success and the organization’s financial health.
Requirements:
Certificate/diploma in psycho-education, childhood education, special education, kinesiology, teaching or any other training/experience deemed relevant.
Ability to relate to young people, be structured and efficient.
Fluency in spoken and written French and English.
No legal impediments related to the job.
Conditions of employment :
Position to replace maternity leave (probation period), 35 hours per week.
Start date: September 2025.
Salary: According to qualifications and experience.
Workplace: 3 rue Mc Cuaig, Campbell’s Bay, Quebec. In summer at 1595 route 148, Litchfield, Quebec.
