Road conditions improving in the TNO Lac-Nilgaut area
Road conditions continue to improve in the TNO du Lac-Nilgaut, according to an update by the MRC Pontiac on road closures in the area.
Segments marked in green on the map are now easily accessible by pickup truck, while sections marked in yellow can be driven with a 4×4 vehicle, although caution is still strongly advised.
To access the northern section of Bois-Franc Road, between kilometres 55 and 128, the official detour is via Schyan Road starting from the municipality of Sheenboro. The route connects to Bois-Franc Road at KM 86, near Lake Forant. No fees are required to cross the ZEC St-Patrice via the main route.
Another option is available via Rapides-des-Joachims Road and the Charrette crossing, accessible from KM 34. However, road passage fees apply when crossing the ZEC Rapides-des-Joachims if no access permit is held.
Authorities remind travelers that spring conditions remain variable in the northern part of the territory and may change rapidly.
