Reviewing the engineering projects in the MRC Pontiac
The schedule of engineering and infrastructure work planned for 2020 in the MRC Pontiac will be reorganized due to COVID-19.
Many projects are in review and delayed according to Director of Engineering and Infrastructure at the MRC, Kim Lesage.
Kim Lesage spoke to the municipalities of the Pontiac MRC who had projects scheduled in their community and communications are ongoing to address the situation related to COVID-19 as it evolves. According to Lesage, the projects planned for this spring could be postponed by a few weeks.
Several projects under the supervision of the Ministère des Transports were suspended after the Quebec government asked for the closure of all non-essential services, including transportation, on March 23.
The MRC engineer also specifies that the delays caused by the pandemic should not have an effect on the investments in roadwork scheduled for 2020-2022 by the ministère des Transports.
