Review of the ATV trail monitoring operation
On August 30, police officers from the MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais Public Security Department assigned to the Operational Support Unit, carried out a surveillance operation on all-terrain vehicle trails located in the Municipality of Pontiac.
On that day, the police arrested 28 people, issued 15 warnings for missing equipment and submitted 9 tickets. The majority of the infractions were related to the fact that people did not have their trail pass, had unpaid registrations or a sanctioned driver’s license, or had missing equipment.
This operation followed several complaints from the public and the Municipality regarding non-compliance with the rules. It should be noted that there will be more similar operations in the coming weeks.
