Removal of restrictions on navigation on the Ottawa River
Removal of restrictions on navigation on the Ottawa River
The Ottawa River is now fully open to navigation. Transport Canada lifted all of the navigation restrictions that were put in place during the floods. Late Tuesday, the restrictions were lifted as a result of improved navigational safety conditions and consultations with authorities.
Although water levels are returning to normal, the public is encouraged to remain vigilant and respectful while boating, particularly near the coast. However, navigation warnings are in effect in some areas. The Canadian Coast Guard Navigation Warning website has a full list of the warning areas.
