Regional francophone AA group hosting 50th annual conference

The Hull-Ottawa-Aylmer chapters of Alcoholics Anonymous are hosting their 50th annual congress on August 16 and 17.

The theme of this year’s event is “Unis dans l’espoir” (United in hope), explained spokesperson Christian D, adding that it will take place in French.  He said that the conference will feature speakers as well as other activities, and is open to anyone struggling with alcohol consumption, or their loved ones.

The event will take place at the Richelieu-Vanier Community Centre (300 avenue des Pères-Blancs) in Ottawa. Christian said that, as the name implies, attendees are asked to follow rules of confidentiality, using only first names and prohibiting any photos or recording.
