Regional development organizations are touring the rural MRCs of the Outaouais
Loisir Sport Outaouais and five other regional organizations are organizing a tour of the rural MRCs to meet with local development stakeholders, including municipalities and the MRCs themselves. The goal is to gain a better understanding of the issues and challenges related to territorial development, while promoting exchanges and collaboration among the different actors.
The meetings will cover several key sectors: public recreation, environment, culture, social economy, housing, and sustainable mobility. The first hour of each meeting will be dedicated to presenting the services offered by the organizations, allowing participants to become more familiar with their resources. This will be followed by discussions at sector-specific tables, where everyone can share their ideas and needs, before concluding with a plenary session.
Normand Veillette, development officer for Loisir Sport Outaouais, tells us more:
” Loisir Sport Outaouais shares this initiative with five other organisations, notably CREDDO (Conseil Régional de l’Environnement et du Développement de l’Outaouais), CDR (Coopérative de Développement Régional), MOBI-O (Centre d’expertise en mobilité de l’Outaouais et de l’Abitibi-Témiscamingue), Culture Outaouais and FIHAB (Fédération Intercoopérative en Habitation de l’Ouest du Québec). These organisations are coming together to tour the MRCs in the region to make their services known to municipal officials and staff, and to discuss local challenges during the tour days.”
To participate, interested individuals must send an email to nveillette@urlso.qc.ca, after which a registration form will be sent to them.
