Regional data is “lacking precision”, says André Fortin

The statistics observed in the past 24 hours in the Outaouais region indicate that more than half of the cases of COVID-19 are now recovered, without specification regarding which local service network these healed persons are from.

These numbers inadequately represent the situation in the region, according to Pontiac MNA André Fortin, who would like to see greater transparency in the regional data published daily by the CISSS de l’Outaouais.

According to the Liberal MNA and health critic for the official opposition, it is possible that there are still less than 5 cases of COVID-19 active in the MRC Pontiac, but it is also possible that the observed cases have recovered since the start of the crisis. André Fortin adds that he is beginning to doubt the relevance of the data transmitted.

Fortin said that he is in communication with the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais in this regard, but pointed out that the directive for publishing regional statistics came from the Québec Health Ministry.
