Recall of Thermos containers that can cause injuries

Recall of Thermos containers that can cause injuries

3 July 2026 à 3:47 pm

Health Canada and Canadian Thermos Products Inc. have issued a recall of three models of Thermos food containers due to a risk of serious injury. More than 1.2 million products sold in Canada are affected.

The problem stems from the lid of some containers, which lacks a pressure-release mechanism. If food or beverages remain in the container for an extended period, the lid can be forcefully ejected upon opening, potentially causing impact injuries or cuts.

The affected models are the 470 ml Stainless King (SK3000), the 710 ml Stainless King (SK3020), manufactured before July 2023, and the 1.2 L Sportsman bottle (SK3010).

Health Canada is urging consumers to immediately stop using these products. They should complete a form with Canadian Thermos Products to receive a free replacement lid. Once the new lid is received, the old one must be discarded before reusing the container.

According to authorities, ten incidents and three injuries have already been reported in connection with these products.
