Reactions to the decision of the CISSS de l’Outaouais to close the obstetrics service until September
Last Friday, the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux de l’Outaouais called a press briefing to the surprise of the population and elected officials in the Pontiac, to announce a six month closure, until September, of the obstetric services at the Pontiac Hospital. The CISSS de l’Outaouais claimed that this interruption is due to the struggles related with staffing that have cause several interruptions over recent months. The MNA for Pontiac André Fortin said he was furious with the decision of the CISSS de l’Outaouais.
According to the Mayor of Shawville, Sandra Murray, special measures should be taken to avoid seeing nurses leave to work in Ontario.
More reactions and details will be available during the Drive at 4pm.
