Quebec’s New Childcare Registration Portal Is Now Live

18 November 2025 à 2:12 pm

The new Quebec Childcare Registration Portal is now online, replacing the former La Place 0-5 platform. Parents must use this portal to search for daycare spaces, create a file, or update their child’s existing record. Access requires identification through the Government Authentication Service (SAG), which has replaced clicSÉQUR.

All data from La Place 0-5 has been transferred. Therefore, if your child was already registered and was born (or adopted) before October 16, 2025, their record is already in the Portal and can be updated. The desired daycare start date has been adjusted to reflect the most recent date between the child’s birth and their registration on La Place 0-5. Going forward, the relevant date for allocating spaces is the desired start date, not the original registration date.

For children born or adopted after October 16, 2025, a new registration in the Portal is required, even if a record already existed on La Place 0-5. Parents must also wait until the child is born or arrives before registering.

The full version of the Portal will be activated in early December. At that time, parents will be able to check their child’s position on waiting lists for CPEs and subsidized daycares. The Ministry notes, however, that positions may fluctuate during the first few months as records are updated.

Finally, all recognized childcare services will be required to use the Portal to list available spaces and admit children, with the exception of services located in Indigenous communities. Until the Portal is fully operational, childcare services may continue using the old La Place 0-5 lists.
