Québec is “not ready” to open school in the next two weeks
The Quebec government is “not ready” to announce the reopening of schools by May 4.
During a press briefing surrounding COVID-19, the Premier of Quebec, François Legault, insisted that it is “out of the question” for activities to resume in educational establishments in the short term.
The Premier has indicated that discussions are ongoing and that it will take two weeks of preparation before announcing any return to class. However, he said the government is looking into making emergency child care available to the children of workers who have returned to work.
Quebec now has 20,126 cases of COVID-19, an addition of 807 in 24 hours.
