The province of Quebec will create the Quebec Cannabis Society to manage the sale as of July 1, 2018. The government tabled Bill 157 this week to regulate the legalization of marijuana.

Those wishing to purchase Cannabis must be at least 18 years to get it. The product will only be visible behind sales counters, in limited quantities.

Advertisements to promote the product will also be restricted. The Québec government stresses that its goal is not to expand the market, but to supervise it to strengthen education and prevention.

It will be forbidden to smoke cannabis on campuses of CEGEPs and universities, as well as in parks or other public spaces designed for children. The smoke-free zone created for tobacco will also apply to cannabis. You must be at least 9 meters from buildings to light up.
The limit of possession will be fixed at 150 grams per person.

The zero tolerance policy for driving while under the influence of drugs will be in force, with a penalty of an immediate license suspension for 90 days.
