Public notice – fire ban in Thorne

The municipality of Thorne is issuing a public notice regarding a fire ban currently in effect.

As of April 27th, the fire danger index is considered extreme. The municipality reminds residents that this is an important call to remain vigilant at all times.

In accordance with bylaw 271-2021, aimed at preventing fires within the territory of the MRC Pontiac, no open-air fires are permitted between April 1 and November 14. Only devices equipped with an approved spark arrestor are allowed.

The municipality thanks residents for their cooperation in helping prevent forest fires and protect the community.
