Public gatherings: the number of people in gatherings increases to 250
The maximum number of people who can attend indoor and outdoor events in public places will increase from 50 to 250 as of August 3, according to what the Legault government announced yesterday afternoon.
The decision mainly concerns performance halls, theaters and cinemas throughout Quebec. The authorities point out that spectators must respect “as far as possible” a distance of two meters between them. Indoor sporting events are also affected by this measure, as are training halls, places of worship, courtrooms and rental rooms.
While this maximum of 250 people also applies to outdoor public events, festivals and other major events remain prohibited until August 31. We reiterate the importance of respecting the physical distance of two meters.
