Public Consultation on Forest Management in the Outaouais Region
The Quebec Ministry of Natural Resources and Forests is inviting the public to take part in a consultation on the Operational Integrated Forest Management Plans (PAFIO) and Special Management Plans (PAS). These plans focus in particular on recovering timber affected by the spruce budworm outbreak in the Outaouais region.
Guillaume Godbout, Executive Assistant to the Director General of Forest Management for the Southwest at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forests, explains which management units and regional county municipalities (MRCs) will be most directly involved in the 2025 public consultation on forest management in the Outaouais.
The proposed work includes timber harvesting, reforestation, thinning, clearing, site preparation, and the construction and improvement of multi-use roads.
Guillaume Godbout outlines the types of activities planned in the Special Management Plans (PAS) submitted for public consultation in the Pontiac region.
Citizens are invited to review these plans and submit their feedback by 11:59 p.m. on November 21, 2025, through the dedicated website.
Guillaume Godbout explains how to take part in the consultation:
