Psychological help for health care workers
Psychological help for health care workers
Additional psychological help will be offered to health care personnel working in the Outaouais.
In addition to the Employee Assistance Program, a psychological support team has been set up in the context of this current COVID-19 health crisis, according to the President and CEO of the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux de l’Outaouais, Josée Filion.
The “white angels” team is made up of around fifty people who will take care of both the employees and the population, as needed, in both French and in English.
A telephone line, which is provided internally, dedicated to its staff was therefore opened to meet their psycho-social needs. The population is invited to contact 8-1-1 in need of psychological support in connection with COVID-19.
Note that 11 employees of the CISSS de l’Outaouais have contracted COVID-19 and several others are in administrative segregation.
Reorganization of screening clinics
Last Friday, the CISSS de l’Outaouais closed its designated COVID-19 clinic located at 135, boul. St-Raymond in Gatineau. Users will now have to go to the new designated COVID-19 evaluation clinic, located at 104, rue du Barry, in Gatineau. This clinic will take charge of the screenings, in accordance with the new criteria in place, which concerns among other things the prioritization of screenings.
Citizens of all ages with flu-like symptoms or gastroenteritis can go to the Gatineau clinic by appointment only. Customers with symptoms of COVID-19 or who have confirmation of COVID-19 and who need to see a doctor will also be welcome. To obtain an appointment, a person must first call 1 877-644-4545.
The CISSS de l’Outaouais reminded the public of the importance of respecting the instructions of the Government of Quebec. Confinement and physical distancing are still the best ways to limit the spread of COVID-19.
For information on COVID-19, the population is invited to consult the Quebec government’s website at www.Quebec.ca/coronavirus.
