Preparations for the arrival of vaccines have started
The Centre intégré de santé et de service sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais held a press conference yesterday (December 10) to take stock of the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic in the Outaouais. Following an increase in cases in recent weeks, the regional director of public health, Brigitte Pinard, said she was encouraged by the progress of recent days.
On the other hand, Brigitte Pinard asked the population to be extra careful, in particular for residents of the MRCs of Papineau and Vallée-de-la-Gatineau, located in the orange zone, who have seen cases on the rise in the regions over the last few weeks.
Regional Public Health Officer Medical Officer Dr. Carol McConnery provided an overview of the logistics of vaccination.
Carol McConnery explained that there are several logistical aspects that need to be thought through and considered. In particular, she mentioned that vaccines should be stored in freezers at low temperature and that several equipment and procedures will be needed before proceeding with the vaccination.
