Power outage between Shawville and Quyon

A power outage hit the municipalities of Shawville, Bristol and Clarendon, as well as the Municipality of Pontiac on Tuesday afternoon.

Hydro Quebec community relations agent Alain Paquette said that the outage was caused by a fallen tree.

“At the start of the blackout, around 2,600 customers were without electricity,” he wrote in an email at around 2:20 p.m.

Paquette said that currently there are 1464 still without power in MRC Pontiac, as well as another 838 in the Municipality of Pontiac. Service was restored at 3:54 p.m.
