The Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux de l’Outaouais (CISSSO) updated the statistics of COVID-19 cases in its report by municipality. A total of 19 positive cases have been confirmed so far (October 8th at 9 p.m.) in the territory of the Local Service Networks of the Pontiac (which includes the MRC Pontiac, but also the municipality of Pontiac).

In the MRC Pontiac, after Fort-Coulonge and Mansfield-et-Pontefract, l’Île-du-Grand-Calumet and Shawville now have positive cases. All of these municipalities have 5 cases or less, which is not the case for the Municipality of Pontiac, with 14 positive cases.

Jane Toller adjusts her statistics for the MRC Pontiac

The increase in the number of municipalities affected by positive cases of COVID-19 is still good news for the Warden of the MRC Pontiac, Jane Toller, who believed that the number of cases was higher earlier this week. “I contacted the CISSS de l’Outaouais directly and was told that in fact, the classification by municipality could contain certain errors. The adjustment confirms that there are fewer residents of our MRC affected, but the number has still increased over the past week, “explained Jane Toller.

Despite this adjustment, the number of cases in the Local Service Networks of the Pontiac increased throughout the week. The number of positive cases for COVID-19 listed by the CISSS de l’Outaouais is available here.
