Pontiac’s Longest-Serving Mayor Running Again
Chichester Mayor Donald Gagnon will once again seek re-election in the municipal vote scheduled for November 2. He has already filed his nomination papers.
With about 30 years of political experience, Gagnon holds the title of dean among Pontiac mayors. He has most often been re-elected without opposition at the head of Chichester Township, including in 2003, 2009, 2013, 2017, and 2021.
Known for his calm approach and measured words, Gagnon has consistently prioritized keeping taxes as low as possible and ensuring proper maintenance of the municipality’s roads.
Candidates have until October 3 to submit their nomination papers.
