Pontiac Pride holds second annual festival at Esprit Rafting

More than 50 people turned up to Esprit Rafting in Davidson on Sunday (August 10) for the second annual festival put on by the Fierté Pontiac Pride committee.

Committee President Michele Gagnon explained that the group had planned their festival to take place in June during pride month, but the event had to be postponed due to poor air quality caused by wildfire smoke.

The family-friendly event featured a free lunch of tacos and activities on the water as well as drag performances from Katarina Jones, Toxxic Waist, and Zak Zinya.

As far as the organization’s future plans, Gagnon said that they were always on the lookout for more volunteers, and would be continuing with their mission of hosting inclusive events and providing support for the region’s LGBT community.
