Pontiac organizations talk housing
On February 25, representatives from close to 30 community, public and private organizations gathered for a discussion on housing in the Pontiac. The meeting was organized by the Pontiac Community Development Corporation (PCDC) as a way to gather a wide variety of organizations with a diversity of expertise to discuss the issue in a holistic way.
The PCDC’s administrative and communications director Geneviève Has explained that the issue is one that they had been studying for quite some time.
The PCDC along with the Office d’habitation du Pontiac also presented a study on the issue of housing. It notes that in addition to being a vital support for vulnerable populations, housing has enormous economic impacts on things like recruitment of health or education workers.
Has said that the shortage that the region is facing is a complex issue.
